  • Overview

    The Strategic Sourcing & Business Operations (SSBO) practice leverages proven methodologies to assist clients in reducing costs across a variety of areas, optimizing business processes and improving stakeholder value.  Within the SSBO practice, HBR Consulting has an internal support team that conducts various analytical activities for the client engagements and the practice called Business Performance & Analytics (BP&A).  HBR Consulting is looking to add a resource to its BP&A team.


    As an Analyst within the BP&A team, you will play an integral role in the savings measurement / pricing compliance phases of client engagements, supporting business cases, data cleansing, research, assisting with ongoing continuous improvement efforts, and other ad-hoc analysis. You will work closely to internally support client engagement teams, broader practice initiatives and HBR’s SpendConnect and Collectivity service lines.


    • Prepare savings measurement and pricing compliance presentations in support of client engagements. 
    • Support the categorization of Accounts Payable and other commodity data for consulting engagement teams and SpendConnect modules. 
    • Support the creation of business case analysis by participating in a pre-defined process which includes reviewing / confirming supplier data, checking data for accuracy, data manipulation/categorization, and high level analysis
    • Work closely with (train and manage) HBR’s offshore resources on completing savings measurement and pricing compliance presentations, accounts payable categorization, and other ad-hoc analysis
    • Conduct research as requested on an ad-hoc basis by those within the practice
    • Assist with knowledge management and tracking of various industry information including monthly industry trends, aggregating vendor and other proprietary information


    • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, MIS, Computer Science, or related field from an accredited college required
    • 1-3 years of relevant workplace experience
    • Demonstrated organizational and project management skills
    • Self-starter, exceptional ability to multi-task
    • Commitment to superior quality and accuracy
    • Strong oral and written communication skills
    • Ability to analyze and organize data
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Powerpoint
    • MS SharePoint, Access, QlikView, or familiarity with Business Intelligence tools is a plus
    • Live in or be willing to relocate to Chicago immediately
    • Permanent U.S. work authorization
