    HBR Consulting LLC is seeking a Senior Consultant to join the Legal Technology Service Line of our Law Department Consulting Practice.


    By providing strategic, technology and operational services to clients in the legal, professional and financial services industries, our consultants are a highly talented group of professionals who offer a unique blend of core consulting experience across a number of industries and disciplines along with specialized skills in their respective areas of expertise. The Law Department Consulting Practice assists clients in optimizing people, process, and technology in order to maximize operational efficiencies.

    As a part of the Law Department Consulting Technology team, we will rely on you to work closely with project team members and client personnel, facilitating requirements gathering, researching best practices and leveraging our methodologies to facilitate the implementation and optimization of specific legal technologies. As a Senior Consultant, you will be expected to work with senior and junior-level internal resources, as well as client engagement leads, to help manage the project lifecycle. You will be responsible for understanding the underlying processes the legal systems enable and automate.  You will also be responsible for defining and delivering on the technical aspects of client engagements during the implementation and ongoing adoption of various legal technologies.



    • Leverage industry knowledge, organizational skills, and project management experience to support all aspects of projects including supporting internal resources, facilitating requirements gathering, preparing documentation of processes, and helping to implement identified solutions
    • Draft specifications documentation for functional and technical resources
    • Identify key client business issues, determining client needs, evaluating and validating analysis
    • Manage client expectations and project scope
    • Track engagement progression and work directly with client management regarding engagement status on a routine basis
    • Assist in developing standardized and reusable solutions for systems and data migration
    • Promote firm development by taking initiative to identify and cultivate new clients and business opportunities, and identify opportunities to provide additional client value and extension of existing client relationships
    • Communicate directly with clients and continually foster client relationships


    • Bachelor's degree or higher required in any of the following: Business, Economics, Computer Science, Management Information Systems
    • 3-5 years of relevant experience in an industry or consulting team-oriented environment
    • Project Management experience in a consulting or professional services environment
    • Proven analytical and quantitative skills
    • Experience conducting business process analysis
    • Strong ability to analyze and organize data
    • Excellent problem-solving skills
    • Exceptional computer skills including advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
    • A working degree of comfort with database theory and design
    • Understanding of the application lifecycle process including requirement analysis, design, migration, testing, and change management
    • Must be detail-oriented and be able to work on multiple projects simultaneously
    • Live near (preferably in) Chicago, New York City/New Jersey or be willing to travel as needed in support of client engagements
    • Permanent U.S. work authorization 
    • Prior experience in Legal Operations or Legal Technology is preferred, but not required


    • Willingness to travel depending on client assignments (0-80%)
