  • Overview

    HBR Consulting LLC is seeking an experienced finance and accounting professional to lead FP&A and general finance activities for its advisory business.  Reporting to the Director of Finance and Operations, this individual will partner with HBR’s Advisory team leadership to inform day-to-day and long-term strategic financial decisions and planning.


    • Lead annual and mid-year budgeting and forecasting for HBR’s legal department advisory practice
    • Present monthly financial statements, budget-to-actual performance and financial projections to the practice group leader, CEO, CFO and COO.
    • Follow up on weekly and monthly financial reporting package (AR, WIP, utilization, etc.)
    • Manage sales tracking and pipeline reporting activities.
    • Prepare practice specific reporting and related analysis to form and insights and drive strategic direction
    • Take ownership of project pricing, working closely with HBR leadership to define project scope and gather input.
    • Understand business drivers and how changes impact budgets and forecasts.
    • Participate in month-end close process, including preparation of journal entries.
    • Identify potential risks and engage with HBR and Advisory leadership to mitigate or eliminate.
    • Prepare ad-hoc analysis to influence decisions and ensure alignment with financial strategies and targets.


    • Six to eight years of work experience in finance or accounting, preferably in the consulting or professional services industries.
    • High attention to detail.
    • Ability to multitask yet work in a disciplined manner.
    • Strong visual representation capabilities and high proficiency in PowerPoint.
    • Self-starter who takes ownership and accountability for high quality work product.
    • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel.
    • Experience with NetSuite a plus.
    • Degree in finance or accounting from an accredited institution.
    • Thorough understanding of GAAP.
    • CPA preferred
    • MBA a plus.
