Overview

HBR Consulting is seeking a Manager to help drive the growth of its rapidly growing Risk Management practice supporting Conflicts and New Business Intake within the Law Firm Advisory (LFA) team.  

 

As a Member of the LFA team, you will play an integral role supporting consulting engagements with new and existing LFA clients. This position will offer many exciting opportunities to develop and enhance HBR’s service offerings to law firms in support of transforming the business acceptance function.  We have the capability to transform conflicts, business intake, client due diligence and terms/outside counsel guidelines to satisfy a law firm’s demand to bring in strategic business quickly, while mitigating risks and increasing operational performance and efficiency.

Responsibilities

Business Acceptance Skills

  • Experience working with leading conflict of interest systems such as Intapp Open Conflicts, Elite Conflicts, LegalKEY Conflicts, etc.
  • Broad knowledge of conflicts clearance policy / processes and experience leveraging technology to support automation
  • Experience mapping business intake workflows and automating with workflow technology such as Intapp Open Intake

Soft Skills

  • Strong/practical judgment and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to run complex technology projects as both functional subject matter expert and project manager
  • Ability to present ideas in a manner appropriate for the intended audience
  • Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; JD desirable
  • Five+ years of experience leading a business acceptance function at a medium to large law firm
  • Familiarity with law firm conflicts clearance, matter/finance metadata set up, client due diligence, and managing outside counsel guidelines and engagement terms
  • Experience implementing Intapp Open modules for Conflicts, Intake, Flow, and Terms
  • Have permanent US work authorization
