  • Overview

    As a member of Technology Services management, s/he oversees a team of seasoned technology professionals, manages the day-to-day operations of the department, contributes to service excellence and continuous quality improvement programs, and serves as a mentor and role model for team members and others across the organization.


    The Infrastructure Manager reports to the Director, Engineering and Deployment and is responsible for technical deployment and 3rd level engineering support of physical and virtual infrastructure for HBR IT Managed Services clients.


    • Oversees a team of infrastructure and system engineers responsible for technical delivery of new systems and 3rd engineering level support of existing systems, including compute, storage, networking, operating system, and virtualization technologies.
    • Serves as a 24x7 escalation point for issues, outages, project work, etc., coordinating internal resources and working with the Engineering and Deployment Director to communicate with senior management and clients.
    • Builds and maintains constructive relationships with other managers of the organization, other HBR businesses, clients, partners, and technology providers by facilitating or participating in technology discussions and meeting regularly to improve collaboration between groups.
    • Helps manage day-to-day activities for client, transformation, and operational initiatives, being responsible for successful delivery on time and budget, planning for and managing resource allocation across projects and operational activities, and resolving contention for resources. 
    • Acts as a steward of the business, safeguarding firm and client data through implementation of security and compliance controls that follow industry best practices, building and managing to his or her capital and operating budget, and identifying ways to drive revenue or cost savings.
    • Serves as a mentor and coach to team members, identifying growth needs, developing an actionable plan, and providing coaching and feedback on progress.
    • Participates in the Technical Standards Board (TSB) with Strategy & Architecture, defining the specific supported product versions for the reference architecture, identifying and managing compatibility across capabilities, and managing client-specific exceptions.
    • Additional duties as assigned.


    • 5+ years of hands-on experience with a variety of infrastructure technologies.
    • 2+ years of management or team lead experience with increasing scope of responsibility.
    • Prior experience as an engineer is highly preferable.
    • Prior experience working with law firms preferred.
    • Moderate to strong written and verbal communication skills with an interest in continual improvement in this area; ability to communicate across teams and disciplines.
    • Good interpersonal skills; ability to build relationships across the organization.
    • Strong sense of professionalism and customer service.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
    • Flexibility to adapt to new challenges as well as client and business needs.
    • Ability to lead and manage others including delegating workload, managing schedules, completing performance reviews, and other managerial tasks.
    • Possess a positive, team-oriented attitude.
    • Travel up to 10% of the time.
