Overview

HBR Consulting LLC (HBR) is seeking a content manager to be part of its marketing team. As a content manager you will join a growth-oriented Firm focused on advancing HBR’s brand in the market.

In this role, you will be responsible for helping to establish the strategic direction for Firm-wide content, as well as collaborate with practice group and operations teams to ensure all assets conform to a consistent content strategy, tone and message. Additionally, the content manager will continuously strive to improve and refine the Firm’s content and ensure effective communication tactics align with target audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Creates and manages content / editorial calendar to ensure timely publication and distribution of content
  • Manages a bench of external writers and creative designers, including assigning projects, and reviewing and providing feedback on content and design
  • Identifies gaps in content and recommends new topics
  • Proofreads and edits written content as needed before publication
  • Collaborates with digital strategist to develop social media content strategy and overseas production of digital assets
  • Knowledgeable in SEO best practices and incorporates SEO tactics into overall content strategy
  • Manages external public relations firm, which includes overseeing all press releases, third-party article placements and interview opportunities
  • Oversees the creation of business development content, including the production of case studies, survey reports, white papers and conference / event presentations
  • Follows industry trends and generates ideas for staying current
  • Reviews and updates published content as needed
  • Creates and maintains style and brand guides
  • Attends HBR-hosted roundtables and events

Other Responsibilities

  • Oversees digital marketing strategy, including website content, development and analytics
  • Manages all aspects of planning and executing HBR’s annual event, Legal Lab

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, journalism, liberal arts or related field
  • 7+ years' experience in a senior editorial, content strategy or similar role
  • Proven work experience as a content strategist, content manager, senior editor or similar role
  • A portfolio demonstrating breadth of content / editorial experience, as well as writing experience
  • Knowledge of content management systems (CMS) and marketing automation software
  • Familiarity with SEO guidelines and keyword research tools
  • Experience using social media
  • Solid writing and editing skills in English
  • Ability to guide and motivate team members
  • Ability to multi-task and thrive in a deadline-driven environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Project management experience a plus
  • B2B and professional services marketing experience is highly preferred
