HBR Consulting is seeking a Managed Services Consultant to help drive the growth of its newly created Law Firm Advisory (LFA) managed services team. We are seeking an individual with a support and implementation background in legal document and records management systems to work with our growing Managed Services team.


Our document management consultants will join a strong, successful practice focused on key law firm data security, document/records management and risk management technologies.

As a Consultant within the LFA team, you will play an integral role supporting new and existing LFA clients. This position will offer many exciting opportunities to contribute to and enhance our document management/data integration practice focused on delivering document and content management solutions to a wide range of managed services clients.   We have the capability to extend document management, search, portal and records management technologies to satisfy the demanding retention, productivity and compliance needs of an information economy.


There is never a typical day on the LFA team.  As part of a collegial, experienced and collaborative team of consultants your role will constantly be adapting to meet client and business needs. Your daily responsibilities may include the following as part of a collegial, experienced and collaborative team of consultants, you will:

  • Handle “level two” and higher type DMS support issues, primarily around server application support including troubleshooting, reporting and configuration.
  • Assist with regular upgrades to the all aspects of the document management system
  • Manage tickets using Zendesk (or other ticketing systems), email and phone calls
  • Support both existing and new clients with their DMS systems and deliver prompt quality customer support to end-users by providing support and final resolution. 
  • Troubleshoot and resolve routine to complex DMS issues by analyzing, identifying and diagnosing faults and symptoms using remote control tool and established processes and procedures. 
  • Participate in DMS deployment project work as required. 
  • Work in a team environment and consults co-workers and procedures to optimize problem resolution. Assists other team members as needed. Assists with documenting technical processes and procedures utilized by the team and its customers.
  • Coordinate and prioritize project tasks, manage timelines, create and maintain detailed project plans and communicate status to client stakeholders throughout the entire implementation process within scope of authority. 
  • Participate in team meetings to review status of project and upcoming deliverables/milestones.
  • Collaborate with team to creatively solve problems and brainstorm solutions.
  • Ensure the use of best practices and apply lessons learned from previous projects; shares findings with team.

Technical Skills

  • Support of DMS platform
  • Extensive experience with database design and T-SQL programming
  • Experience with common workflow technologies like Metastorm or SharePoint

  • Good/practical technical judgment and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to present ideas in a manner appropriate for the intended audience
  • Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities

  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment


  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Commerce (or related field) is preferred.
  • Have permanent US work authorization.
  • Experience configuring and deploying iManage, NetDocuments, Intapp products is a plus. 
  • Proven ability to work efficiently and effectively in a team-based environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to communicate technical information to non-technical audiences.
  • Knowledge of Law firm environment and process is a plus.
  • Ability to successfully prioritize multiple responsibilities for multiple clients simultaneously.
  • Experience with integration of desktop applications with document management systems
  • Knowledge and/or experience with Microsoft SharePoint and SQL is a plus.


  • Limited travel (one week per month) is typical.
