HBR Consulting is seeking an Analyst for the Firm. As a part of HBR Consulting’s SSBO Procurement Solutions team, we will rely on you to work closely with project team members and client personnel, facilitating day to day procurement of goods and services, invoice audit and payment, product and service requirements gathering, researching best practices and leveraging internal intellectual property and conducting data analysis to facilitate the implementation of cost savings and process improvement opportunities.


Playing an integral role on one of our client delivery teams, the Analyst will be responsible for all phases of client engagement delivery. You will work closely with senior team members to analyze data and research best practices that will enhance our clients’ operations.



Your specific responsibilities will evolve and encompass a broad scope of duties, but would generally include the following:

  • Perform detailed analysis on savings opportunities, risk exposure, firm value, product offering, and customer service 
  • Research suppliers and industries to accumulate expertise in cost drivers and leading practices 
  • Leverage past client experiences and internal company knowledge to determine opportunities 
  • Assist in the development of client and supplier strategies to implement jointly determined action plans 
  • Build quantitative models and interpret results 
  • Create succinct and logically-structured management reports
  • Work collaboratively with fellow consultants and client teams 
  • Maintain and update project tracker for current and open negotiations
  • Support contract administration including minimal or select business term review while managing documents in a contract management system 
  • Assist and support special projects / capital budget projects 
  • Support purchasing activity via a purchasing system including creating and submitting purchase orders, collecting and reviewing bids and other activities
  • Perform other strategic duties as required and assigned 
  • Maintain other reporting (management, savings, budget, other) as requested by Client 
  • Participate in client presentations and client meetings


  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Supply Chain or Management Information Systems required; 3.3 minimum GPA
  • 1-3 years of relevant work experience within a consulting firm, internal procurement function, strategic or corporate planning, or analytic-based functional role
  • Proven analytical and quantitative skills with experience/proficiency using Microsoft Excel, Access and PowerPoint
  • Previous research, modeling and financial analysis experience
  • Self-starter with an exceptional ability to multi-task
  • Demonstrated organizational and project management skills
  • Commitment to superior quality and accuracy
  • Strong business acumen, presence, and communication skills
  • Live in or be willing to relocate to Chicago immediately
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
  • Have permanent US work authorization
  • Ability to work effectively with clients, colleagues and support staff
